The headmaster for Apostolic Golden Jubilee school at Ash town in the Ashanti region Mr.Kwasi Nimo has appealed to the government of Ghana to celebrate teachers as " heroes " of nationalism.
Whilst speaking to the press today about the purported world "teachers day celebration, he added that, sometimes people even feel shy to identify themselves as teachers, since they are least respected in the society today.
"Women even feel ashamed to accept the proposal of teachers ,due to the poor conditions of its staffs, we go home empty handed but we suffer to train even the dumb students to be a lawyer", he expressed.
In addition, he called on the Ghana education service to lower its restrictions towards teachers which has become a burden for them.
Responding to the poor treatment of teachers by some parents, he emphasized that, parents must at all cost respect teachers ,believing they play the same roles as parents,even theirs is tougher.
"Parents must as such understand their relationship with teachers, some of the children are very stubborn to come by but we go through these hardship to blend them,so why should they fight teachers, when there is misunderstanding",?he quizzed .
In his final submission, he urged the various teachers associations to rise up to enhance quality teaching conditions of the its members.
